Privacy Policy

Effective 3 November 2026

In short: Routside collects no data. It reads your workouts from Apple Health on your device to draw them on a map. It never changes your Health data, never sends it anywhere, and has no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking.

Health data

With your permission, Routside reads these from Apple Health:

• Workouts and their GPS routes, to place them on the map and draw their routes.
• Heart rate, active and resting energy, and distances, to show a workout's details.

This data is read and displayed on your device only. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, never used for advertising, and never sold. Routside never writes to or changes your Health data.

You choose what Routside can read, and can change it at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Routside.

What's saved on your device

• Workout positions. So the map opens quickly, Routside keeps a copy of where each workout started, and the area its route covers, in your device's cache. It's rebuilt from Health when needed, removed when its workout is, and your device can clear it at any time.
• Your settings. Your filter choices, and whether you've seen the welcome screen.

Both stay on your device and are deleted if you delete the app. Routside doesn't use iCloud or any other online storage.

Location

If you tap Show My Location, Routside asks to use your location while you're using the app, and uses it only to show you on the map. It is never stored or sent anywhere.

Apple Maps

Routside's maps are provided by Apple. To draw the map, your device asks Apple's servers for the part of the world you're looking at. When you open a workout's details, Routside also asks Apple for the name of the place where it started, which sends that place's coordinates to Apple. Apple handles these requests under Apple's privacy policy; Apple Maps doesn't link them to your Apple Account. Routside receives only the map and the place name.

No accounts, analytics or tracking

There's nothing to sign up for. Routside contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and no third-party software at all.

This website

routside.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes the technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Children

Routside collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Because Routside collects no data, any change would only ever describe how the app works on your device.
